Frequently asked questions

The data

What is Polywatcher?

Polywatcher shows trading activity on Polymarket Perps: large orders and liquidations with the wallet behind them, hourly top 25 leaderboards, and a page for each wallet.

Where does the data come from?

From Polymarket Perps' public market data. We need no account access and hold no keys.

Is Polywatcher part of Polymarket?

No. Polywatcher is independent and not affiliated with Polymarket.

Is any of this advice?

No. Polywatcher shows what wallets did, never what anyone should do.

Reading the site

What do OPEN and CLOSE mean?

OPEN is an order that opens a position: a new one, more of one, or one on the other side as the order closes the old one. CLOSE is an order that closes part or all of one. LONG and SHORT are the side of the position.

What is Order type on Plus and Pro?

Plus and Pro say how each order was placed, and can list one kind: Market is an order that filled at once against the order book (a market order, or a limit order priced to fill at once); Limit is an order that waited in the book for its price, listed as it fills, with market makers left out so you see who is taking a side. Listed together, one trade can show twice, once as each side.

What is a wallet type on Plus and Pro?

How a wallet enters its trades, from its recent trading. Market maker: its limit orders fill across many markets, as a market maker's quotes do. Patient directional: it takes a side mostly with orders that wait in the book until filled. Aggressive directional: it takes a side mostly with orders that fill at once, taking liquidity. Hybrid: a mix of the two. A wallet with too little recent trading has no type yet.

How does Pro show an order's leverage?

Next to its side, as in ▲ LONG 5x: the leverage of the position the order opened or closed, when we can read it. When we cannot, Pro shows none rather than a guess. A wallet page on Pro shows each open position's leverage too, with its return on margin: leverage does not change a position's dollar P&L, it changes that return.

What is a liquidation?

When a position's losses use up its margin, the venue closes it by force. We list each liquidation of $1K or more that we record, with its wallet and its realized P&L.

Why does a trade say "Identifying"?

Its wallet is not known yet. Most orders show their wallet within a few minutes; the few still unknown after an hour read "Not identified".

Why does one order show as several rows?

An order often fills in several parts. On Free, Live Trades and wallet pages list each fill as its own row, the way Polymarket's own activity list does, without saying which fills make up one order. Plus shows each order whole: one row with all its fills combined, its total and its average price. The Whales and Liquidations tabs, and our Telegram posts, show each order as one row on every plan.

Where do wallet names come from?

They are the public names people use on Polymarket. Anyone can change theirs; we refresh every name daily.

What is a trading style?

A tag from a wallet's own record: market maker, algorithmic, scalper, day trader or swing trader. Market maker: its limit orders fill across many markets, as a market maker's quotes do. Algorithmic: many orders a day, placed across most hours of the day. Scalper, day trader and swing trader go by how long it usually holds a position: minutes, hours, or longer. A wallet needs enough trading for a tag.

Plans

What does Free show?

Orders and liquidations 15 minutes behind: the latest 100 of $1K or more (and the latest 100 of each asset class: Crypto, Stocks, Commodities, Indexes), the latest 50 liquidations, the latest 50 whale orders, and the latest 25 orders and liquidations on a wallet's page. Whale orders ($10K or more) are a random selection wherever they appear, the same selection for everyone. Live Trades and wallet pages split each order into its fills, one row per fill, so a row can be under $1K (its order is $1K or more). The top 25 of each leaderboard, recorded every hour, and the trading style of 3 wallets a month. Our Telegram channel is free for everyone.

What will Plus and Pro add?

Plus: 5 minutes behind, each order as one row with its fills combined, every order, whale and liquidation we record, 30 days of history, personal alerts on 10 wallets or assets straight to your own Telegram, limit orders with market makers filtered out, and every wallet's trading style. Pro: real time, the leverage behind each order and open position when we can read it, the full history of everything we record, alerts on 100, and early access to new features. The Plans page compares them.

How much will Plus and Pro cost?

Plus: $14.99 a month, or $9.99 a month billed yearly ($119.88 a year). On the waitlist, Plus is $4.99 a month for your first year ($59.88, billed yearly). Pro is priced at launch. Prices are in US dollars and not final: they depend on how fast the waitlist grows and which features people want most, and they may come down as demand grows.

Can I suggest a feature?

Yes. Email support@polywatcher.com with what you hope to see. We can't promise it will be ready when Plus and Pro open, but when many people ask for the same thing, it gives us a bigger incentive to work with the Polymarket team, and it is more likely to be prioritized for future releases.

When do Plus and Pro open?

Soon. Everyone on the waitlist hears first, gets 7 days of Pro when they open (14 if the list passes 1,000), and a founding price on Plus: $4.99 a month for their first year.
